How is average wage calculated?
This estimate divides wages for the three calendar months before the statutory retirement date by the number of calendar days in that period. It includes three twelfths of eligible prior-year bonuses and unused-leave pay.
Are taxes and pension-plan balances included?
No. The result is an estimated gross statutory amount. Retirement income tax, DB/DC plan differences and periods excluded from the average-wage calculation are omitted.
