A processed insurance-loss report does not establish that separation confirmation is complete, or that your benefit claim is approved.
Scope: paperwork for ordinary employees
This guide prepares documents and status checks rather than recalculating benefit amounts or duration. Daily workers, artists and other insured categories may use different procedures. Leaving employment alone does not establish eligibility. The employment center assesses the separation reason, insured qualifying days, work capacity and job-seeking requirements.
Identify each document and responsible organization
| Item | Purpose | Route |
|---|---|---|
| Insurance-status loss report | End of insured status and reason | Employer to Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service; check its Total Service |
| Separation confirmation | Reason, qualifying days, wages and scheduled hours | Employer to employment center; check Work24 processing status |
| Eligibility application | Assessment using records and individual conditions | Worker follows the employment-center procedure |
Work24 describes separation-confirmation issuance within ten days of the worker’s request. Insurance-loss reporting is ordinarily due by the 15th of the following month, with prompt earlier reporting when requested before that deadline. Keep request, submission and processing records separate.
Worked status example
Example · Only insurance loss is complete
- Employer says the insurance-loss filing was submitted.
- Total Service shows the loss processed.
- Work24 does not yet show the separation confirmation.
- Ask separately whether that confirmation was submitted, on what date, and whether corrections are pending.
- Even two completed filings do not equal benefit approval.
Record the date and exact status wording if submission and processing screens differ. Ask the responsible organization which stage remains before repeatedly resubmitting the same document.
If the reason or wage figures are inaccurate
- Collect the contract-ending notice, resignation documents and employer correspondence showing what actually occurred.
- Identify disputed periods, amounts or reasons using payslips and work records.
- Request factual correction from the employer; ask the employment center or responsible agency about evidence and correction steps if unresolved.
- Do not request a favorable but inaccurate reason. Describe the actual circumstances when legal classification is uncertain.
A request and next steps
“Please confirm separately whether the insurance-loss report and separation confirmation were filed, their submission dates and any pending corrections. Please also confirm that the reason, periods, wages and hours reflect the actual facts.” Review Work24 job registration, education and eligibility-application instructions. If employer paperwork is delayed, contact the center about timing and the next step instead of waiting indefinitely.
