When substitute holidays occur

The applicable law moves certain holidays that overlap a weekend or another holiday to a later weekday. The exact rule depends on the holiday and year, so use confirmed annual data rather than applying a single rule to every date.

Temporary holidays

A temporary public holiday is declared by a separate government decision. It cannot be inferred from a regular holiday schedule and is added to korWork only after confirmation.

Private workplaces

Whether an employee is off and how work on that day is paid depends on the applicable holiday provisions and workplace arrangements. Local and company-specific holidays are outside this calendar.
